Custom Domains
Why use a custom domain?
Custom domains let your short links and redirects use your own brand (for
example links.yourcompany.com) instead of the platform domain. This looks more
professional and builds trust with your audience.
Requirements
You need a subdomain (like links.yoursite.com or go.yoursite.com).
Apex/root domains (like yoursite.com) cannot be used because they do not
support the DNS record type (CNAME) required to route traffic.
Setup steps
- Add your subdomain in Custom Domains.
- Create the verification CNAME record in your DNS provider (the exact values are shown on screen).
- Click Check DNS — once verified, point your subdomain to our edge network with a second CNAME.
- Click Activate to provision TLS (HTTPS). This usually takes a few minutes.
Fallback URL
Once active, set a fallback URL so visitors who go to a path with no redirect get sent somewhere useful (like your homepage) instead of seeing an error.
Removing a domain
Click Remove next to any pending or verified domain to start over. Active domains must be deactivated first (which also cleans up the TLS certificate).
