Short links

Create short, memorable URLs on urlz.zip. Click Shorten URL, paste your long URL, and optionally choose a custom code. Your short link (for example urlz.zip/mycode) will redirect visitors to the original URL.

Redirects

Redirects work on links.compactsaas.com or your own domain. Click Add Redirect to create a path-based redirect. For example, redirect links.compactsaas.com/sale to your promotion page.

Using your own domain

To use your own domain for short links and redirects: go to Custom Domains (gear icon), add a subdomain like links.yoursite.com (apex domains like yoursite.com will not work), follow the two DNS steps (verification CNAME, then edge network CNAME), and your domain is ready. When creating a short link, select your domain from the dropdown. See the Custom Domains guide for full setup steps.

Managing links

All your links appear in one list. Use the filter chips to show All, Short Links, or Redirects. Click Edit to open the detail page where you can change the destination, or Delete to remove a link. Changes take effect immediately.

Automating with the API

Short links and redirects can be created and managed programmatically. See the Links API reference for endpoints, or drive them from an AI assistant via the MCP server.
